“Clever Little Critters” fungi education

Aimed at anyone who teaches or is interested in teaching about fungi, or those wanting to learn about fungi as a beginner. Barry Muir regularly presents short fungi lectures to primary and high schools, local gardening groups, conservation groups, and anybody else who will listen, to raise interest and enthusiasm for fungi and their essential role in nature and human endeavour. In this lecture he will present the talk and discuss what he has included and why and the response he has been getting. Then if anybody thinks they can use the presentation in their own local area, Barry can send them the Powerpoint at no charge as long as it is used for teaching. A great opportunity to upskill more of us to be fungi educators!

Barry Muir is a widely travelled and published ecologist and university lecturer who consulted to all levels of government and to private industry before retiring to Cairns. Barry specialises in the interactions between weather, geology, soils, plants and animals and since retirement has directed his interest towards the role of fungi in the environment and in environmental education.
