Join The GREAT AUSSIE FUNGI HUNT 2024 – Agarics, Polypores, Earthstars, Corals, Stinkhorns, Morels, Lichen, Slime Molds… the list goes on …
It doesn’t matter where you live – in the forest, in the city, near the beach, or in the desert – explore the world around you, find fungi, win prizes and contribute to our knowledge of fungi in Australia by loading your photos and observations on to the Fungi Hunt Australia iNaturalist project. Starts 1st October 2024.
Last year over 13,000 records were loaded onto the iNaturalist project by nearly 2000 citizen scientists just like you. This year we are hoping to do better. There will be prizes for the Most Research Grade Finds (young and old) and the most Exciting or Rarest find.
You are welcome of course to add your observations to any platform but to be eligible for the prizes you will need to load them onto the Fungi Hunt iNaturalist project here.
Stay tuned to our socials for hints on where to look in your area and profiles of commonly found fungi. In the meantime check out Fungi Down Under for 100 of the most commonly found fungi.
