Macrotyphula juncea – Fairy Club

On wet leaves and litter of native vegetation. This tall, very thin, thread-like species is difficult to see. It consists of a white to tan head on a thinner, short, dark stem. The stem is attached to the substrate by a white mycelial disc or by fungal strands interwoven amongst the substrate.
