Craterellus cornucopioides – Horn of Plenty

In forest litter in cool temperate rainforests. This species looks like a small cornucopia (a deep hollow trumpet tapering downward from a flared mouth). It is grey and wrinkled on the outside with a dark brown or black mouth. Fruit-bodies blend in so well with the litter that they are often difficult to see.
