Leucopaxillus lilacinus – Purple Turnover

On the ground in eucalypt forests and plantations. This robust fleshy species has a purple cap and a stout stem which is purple and white. The gills are white and often forked and interconnected. A distinctive feature for the genus Leucopaxillus is the inrolled cap margin in young specimens.
