(Synonym Dermocybe splendida)
On the ground in eucalypt forests. A robust species with a red-brown cap, distinguished by vivid, paprika-red gills and bright yellow mycelium at the base of the stem. On this red and yellow stem, rusty-brown spores may lodge in the fibrillose remains of the cobwebby veil (cortina).
